Education

Our mission is to change the future of Bali and beyond in a way that will measurably have a positive impact against the damage that plastic waste has made on our environment. We believe education is the primary tool for this mission.

We’ve partnered with local Indonesian school districts to visit a school each week where we introduce ourselves to the school kids and share our mission with them, discuss some of the problems our local and global environments are experiencing, then we encourage them to brainstorm for solutions and share their ideas. We also present practical solutions that empowers them to have a responsible relationship with plastic. The kids are encouraged to share information at home with their family.

Educating the children and adults of Indonesia and around the world is in our view the best form of preventative action we can take to ensure that, over time, the streets and jungles of Indonesia and the world beyond become and remain plastic free.

Cleanups

We’ve partnered with local schools to coordinate regular, local environmental cleanups with members of our volunteer team, supervisory school staff, and the school kids, which are wonderful, multi-generational team building exercises. This affords all participants, especially the children, an excellent way to reinforce the educational information and to see first-hand how bad the plastic problem is.

We also can offer our cleanup services for Balinese temple services and even weddings to ensure your event is plastic-free!

Permaculture

We were awarded a small grant and used it to convert an unused lot of land into a self-sustaining showcase permaculture garden.

Primary Goal

Our primary goal is to provide permaculture training classes to locals, volunteers and visiting guests thereby increasing the potential number of staff that can help operate and manage the permaculture garden which will produce a bounty of vegetables, fruit, herbs and other types of plants. Produce will be gifted to active staff and sold to the local, general public to support our program.

Secondary Goal

Our secondary goal is to have people take the knowledge and apply it in their own home or community in order to promote the ideals of self-sufficiency and reconnection to the Earth and her seasons.

New Water Pump

Of great importance is also the purchase of a new water pump for the Tampaksiring community. This will provide delicious, fresh water to about 1000 families within the area. Sadly at this time, our community has to purchase water from outside sources including bottled water which is wasteful financially and produces large quantities of unnecessary plastic bottles.

Fair-Use Financial Eco-System

One of our goals is to create a financial ecosystem that compensates the collector of plastic waste. Here’s how it would work:

  • a COLLECTOR brings a load of plastic to a plastic reclamation center

  • a PLASTIC RECLAMATION CENTER uses a redemption schedule based on standardized global plastic codes to identify how much the load is worth and issues compensation in the form of cryptocurrency

  • The plastic reclamation center then carts off bulk loads to facilities like a SEPCO Industries plastic-to-oil facility for conversion into refined fuels or an ANAERGIA facility to convert organic trash to energy.
